I’m an experienced finance executive, fortunate to have worked for a number of highly entrepreneurial companies creating new and exciting businesses in their industries. I’m energized by the challenges of building something innovative, working closely with a like-minded team to map out a plan and solve problems. For the last 20 years I have served as a senior executive (generally CFO, often responsible for Legal) for a range of companies:• From startup to $135 mm in revenues and 500+ employees. • Mostly tech-related; crypto since 2018. Previous companies included a semi-conductor trading platform, a luxury goods online marketplace, and an oil and gas tech company• Also have experience in the restaurant and family entertainment sectors. I have successfully navigated both hype cycles and downturns, taking companies through high growth and retrenchment.My core competencies revolve around strategy, planning, analysis, investor relations, fundraising, corporate development, and legal (I have a law degree). My primary role, in addition to running the accounting/finance function, has been to:• Help develop and execute the company’s strategy, • Provide analytical support to understand the business, • Ensure smart deployment of cash, • Lead capital raising and other deal-related efforts, and • Generally partner with the CEO and management team with regard to key business decisions and the company’s overall direction.I began my career on Wall Street, at Salomon Brothers and then Bear Stearns, advising companies in the media and technology industries.I earned my MBA and JD degrees from the University of Chicago (editor on the law review, winner of the moot court competition) and my AB degree in economics from Harvard (president of the debate team). I am also a Trustee of the Paleontological Research Institution, a 90-year old non-profit associated with Cornell dedicated to the furtherance of earth sciences education in the US.
