Licensed Professional and Structural Engineer in 32 States, Saskatchewan Canada and Guam.Prior to a successful merger with Alfred Benesch & Company, Mr. Epp was President of LONCO Inc. a Civil, Structural Transportation and Environmental Consulting Engineering firm with a staff of 30 engineers that was originally established in 1962. Mr. Epp successfully opened the Chicagoland office of LONCO, Inc. in 1999 and has consistently expanded the business since that time. Mr. Epp is instrumental in the geographic expansion of LONCO to include 48 States and into Canada.Responsible for all hiring and staff decisions. Responsible for the planning and execution of all business development and promotion of the firm. Accountable for all project budget and scope negotiations, invoicing, and collections in the Chicago office. Officer and Regional Manager responsible for the Civil and Structural Engineering operations for Beling Consultants in the Chicago Metropolitan Region. Managed 40 professional engineering and technical staff. Successfully expanded the business from less than $1.5 million in gross revenues to over $4.0 million while substantially increasing the profit contribution. In addition, accounts receivables decreased over the same period of time. Beling’s reputation in its market areas was enhanced and our repeat client work noticeably increased. Repeatedly had the highest profitability of all departments in the company. Main service areas that were performed in the department included land development, transportation engineering, municipal engineering and surveying projects.

Performed as Project Manager, Project Engineer or Design Engineer on various civil and structural engineering projects. Responsibilities included civil engineering design for a $40 million Phase II Interstate Highway project for the Illinois Department of Transportation (I-255 extension in East St. Louis Illinois). Design was completed using metric units. Other projects included The City of Pontiac Michigan Signalization upgrade project for the Michigan Department of Transportation, and the Metra-Cary Access Roadway design project in Cary Illinois. Successfully performed as structural design engineer for the Congress Parkway bridge replacement project over the Metra Railroad in Chicago Illinois. Business responsibilities included the establishment of internal training guidelines nationwide and conducting training needs analysis. Selected as chairman of an internal committee to review and suggest changes to project reporting procedures and documents. Project budgeting and review were ongoing project management responsibilities.

Project Manager or Principal in Charge on projects ranging from a $30 million highway/bridge design effort to a $25,000 structure rehabilitation. As Project/Design Engineer, Mr. Epp successfully worked on projects consisting of conventionally reinforced and pre/post-tensioned concrete bridge structures, steel bridge structures; steel and concrete building and building foundation designs, as well as highway design, parking structure design and rehabilitation, and aircraft apron design. Mr. Epp was also responsible for the technical review of bridge inspections and bridge ratings for several years (over 1000 bridge inspections).Business responsibilities included business development/promotion, budgeting, training, resource allocation, development of company policy, and personnel decisions.Attributes that were responsible for Mr. Epps' project management and business development success are his team building, communication, and leadership skills.

At Sargent and Lundy, Mr. Epp worked in the structural department charged with the analysis and design of four nuclear power plants. Byron 1 and 2 as well as Braidwood 1 and 2, all four are 1175 MW power plants and are located in Illinois. Design, evaluation and rehabilitation of structural steel framing within the power plant structures were primary areas of responsibility.Mr. Epp was asked to participate with an internal team of knowledge leaders in the development of analysis and design standard used by other engineers in the Department.Similarly, Mr. Epp participated in "Quality Circles" that reviewed the work flow and other procedures of the Department and suggested improvements.
