Driver for Paschall Truck Lines, a large, over-the-road carrier with nearly 1300 trucks on the road. Over-the-road driver who traveled most of the country. I've been in every state west of the Mississippi except for North Dakota, and all eastern states except for Vermont and Maine.

Professional tractor-trailer driver for Pilgrim's Pride Corp., the largest chicken producer and distributor in North America. They are No. 1 in the United States and Canada, and No. 2 in Mexico. My first year in this position, I grossed nearly double my largest annual salary to date. I loved the job, and it was an excellent career move. But, the chicken industry isn't all it's cracked up to be, at present, and PPC closed my plant in Plant City, FL nearly two years after acquiring it from privately-owned Bud's Poultry & Food Service, which was locally owned by Bud Brown, and run by his son, Kevin Brown. In this position, I delivered chicken to restaurants such as KFC, Popeye's, Golden Corral, Barnhill's, Stevie B's, as well as Sea World, Universal Studios, Epcot, Busch Gardens, several grocery stores and convenience stores, as well as other smaller chicken distributors across Central Florida. Now, I'm looking for another job in trucking.

As editor of a small weekly newspaper, I was responsible for the entire editorial content. I wrote stores, edited staff stories, made assignments, and covered a variety of assignments myself,most notably sports (Auburndale High School) and Auburndale city government. As a photographer, I took my own pictures, developed and printed them, then chose which ones to print in that week's edition. I had only one full-time writer, Jackie Kaupus (Jackie, where are you?), and another college-age part-time reporter, as well as a few frequent conributors. I also laid out the entire paper weekly, including writing the headlines, sizing the photos and determining their placement. This paper became defunct nearly a year after I left it. I saw the writing on the wall, and after leaving it, I never returned to journalism, save for a few spot assignments covering local prep and city sports.
