This is a group of Senior Level Project Managers that meet regularly after work to discuss real life PM challenges. I facilitate the group meeting. Each member of the group shares their personal and work related issues in a totally confidential environment. I then use my formal Executive Coach Training to offer a different perspective, invite them to consider new options, and generate a roundtable discussion among the other Project Managers. In most cases, there is usually someone in the group who has had a similar experience to this, and he or she then offers a possible solution. The meetings are usually held on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. This group has been effective in providing useful guidance for it's members. The Project Managers always leave the meetings better off than when they arrived. This is a volunteer work effort.
