Supporting the Washington DC, Office of Construction Facilities providing Training and Site Inspections during all phases of construction ensuring compliance with JCAHO, NFPA, OSHA, and VA Standards and other local state and Federal Standards as applicable for the Gilbert, Arizona VA Clinic.

Assisted the Area Director and the Phoenix Team in the Phoenix area OSHA Office Region IX with operations while attending college. Duties included development and implementation of the agency presentations and speeches, provided technical information and assistance to help the public to obtain a safe and healthful workplace, promoted rapid hazard abatement of case file completion, responded to complaints, use of abatement incentive programs , and assurance of abatement, documented enforcement cases for legal sufficiency and information provided in support of the case(s) facilitates resolution of informal conference and case settlement and assisted in defending the Agency's position in hearings, evaluated safety and health programs adequately and made recommendations for improvement, identified hazards, conducted interviews, used equipment and gathered evidence to support legally sufficient cases.

Supported work in the Safety Section of Engineering Services in direct support of the Carl T Hayden Medical Center and associated community based outpatient clinics. Primary responsibilities were to conduct inspections ensuring compliance with JCAHO, NFPA, OSHA, and VA Standards for safety and other local State and Federal Standards as applicable. Additional Responsibilities included responsibility for the Construction and Maintenance of drafted policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards. Performed regular inspections of the medical center's Fire Protection System which includes Fire Hydrants, Fire Extinguishers, and Smoke Detectors, Fire and Smoke Doors and other Fire Protection components as necessary. Assisted the Industrial Hygienist / GEMS Coordinator and/or Safety Team under the supervision of the Administrator, Facilities Services and/or Chief Engineer.

Served as a Haz-Mat Specialist/Safety Coordinator working with and supporting the U.S Army 401st and Marine Corps Managing Safety Operations at Leatherneck, Afghanistan and other area FOB’s“Forward Operating Bases” throughout Afghanistan including Kandahar, and Bagram to ensure compliance with US Army Safety & Loss Control Programs 385-10 & 385-40, US ARMY Corps of Engineers EM 385-1, OSHA 1910 & 1926, (CAA) Clean Air Act, (CWA) Clean Water Act, (RCRA) Resource Recovery Act,EPA) Environmental Protection Act, (CERLA) Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation & Liability Act, (SARA) Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization. Assisting (DOD) Department of Defense with the development and implementation of approved Safety & Training Programs. Conducted branch field audits to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of all SOP, Safety Polices at Bagram, Kandahar and Leatherneck Afghanistan in the Helmand Province conducting Safety Inspections, Fire Prevention Plans, Disaster Planning, Onsite Hazardous Materials Collection, Handling, and Storage Activities. Also appointed and served as the Fire Warden.
