The Common Market is a non-profit regional food distributor with a mission to connect communities with good food from sustainable family farms. We strive to improve food security, farm viability and community and ecological health.

Assist small businesses with process improvement, loss reduction, merchandising strategies, productivity enhancements and human resource considerations. Conduct team building and process improvement workshops with corporate clients. Facilitate on-campus work readiness, corporate culture and life skill seminars for college students. Provide one on one and group executive coaching sessions. Assist with mission trips in and around Accra, Ghana in program teaching over sixty-five young ladies in rural villages sewing techniques and entrepreneurial strategies. In 2018 addressed over 500 high school students in Labonne Charter School in Accra, Ghana.

Responsible for leading engagement team of retention specialists, mentors, deans of students and security team for inner-city dropout alternative charter school of over 300 students. Also responsible for oversight of third party trauma counseling organizations. Designed and implemented make mentoring program for at-risk youth based on peer leadership principles. Developed life skill development program to compliment core educational curriculum with focus on personal branding, financial literacy, leadership as well as emotional and physical health.

Managed five district managers and a team of administrative leaders for labor expense, process improvement, front end experience, safety, food safety, loss prevention, security and e-commerce. Responsible for overall profitability of over 100 retail units. Served as executive sponsor of associate resource group and initiated mentoring circles of highly promotable associates.

Led region of four districts and approximately 100 stores. Served as co-champion for leading improvements in customer experience, particularly in front end wait time and associate friendliness which experienced significant improvements in customer approval. Revamped unprofitable store program which resulted in moving four unprofitable stores from losing money to profitability.

Managed twenty-five retail locations in northwest Atlanta. Earned recognition as top district in profit and second highest (out of nine districts) in sales. Successfully promoted seven associates to positions of higher responsibility outside of district.

Managed loss prevention and safety initiatives for region of four states. Directed staff of five administrative associates, 11 District last prevention managers, approximately 22 loss prevention undercover shoplifting specialists, and organized retail crime investigator, and two senior loss prevention specialists. Created the engagement officer program for third-party security guards which became a model for the company. This program reduce shrink in pilot stores by an average of 25%. Conducted internal investigations which lead to disciplinary action in the event of violations of company policy or applicable law. Led cross functional effort to develop and implement refrigeration loss procedures which in several cases eliminated or reduced losses of thousands of dollars in perishable foods during events of extended power outages. Together with division shrink manager conducted group training sessions, filmed a training broadcast and conducted audits to follow up on favorable outcomes which resulted in a shrink reduction of 38% across the division. Served as division leader for business continuity in the event of a catastrophic event. Conducted emergency test procedures to ensure the continued operation in such an event.

Managed expense controls for metro Atlanta district of 25 stores. Conducted training and counseling sessions for store leaders not achieving desired operational results. Work together with the district manager on store manager and assistant store manager selections. conducted all second step grievance meetings for associate disciplinary processes. Organized caucus of all district operations managers for quarterly best practice sharing and ongoing skill development.

Successfully completed LCI store management training program. Served as store assistant manager, store manager and district merchandising specialist. Managed store teams of 80 to 100 to manage inventory and processes while implementing company merchandising strategy. Consistently grew sales year-over-year while achieving high marks for customer satisfaction. Implemented successful pilot to increase tobacco sales within the district. Provided supervision and assistance for new store openings and stores undergoing remodels.

Provided general corporate counseling, contract review and negotiation, regulatory compliance, licensing, dispute resolution and litigation supervision for several supermarket divisions, fuel centers, distribution facilities and convenience store chains. Helped to develop operating procedures in conjunction with pharmacy leaders in response to HIPAA privacy legislation. Conducted advance research on fuel sales regulations in all applicable states to assist with the rollout of supermarket fuel program. Serve as lead counsel in negotiating several technology agreements including the biometric access program used by associates to record time clock punches.

Served as corporate law associate attorney. Represented clients in financing agreements, mergers and acquisition‘s and general corporate matters. Provided legal representation to the Louisville International Airport in responding to open records request from the general public.

Practice both corporate law and litigation throughout the state of Kentucky primarily in the areas of insurance, workers compensation and product liability defense. Served as lead counsel for multiple cases from filing, through the discovery process, to trial and appellate filings. Tried first case as first chair within one year of graduating from law school. Also started a sports and entertainment law practice managing three professional athletes and multiple recording acts.
