Cyber Council is a first of its kind group of community cyber leaders convened to foster public and private cyber information sharing. The Council will centralize and provide cyber information and resources for InfraGard members to address cyber threats and reduce risk to critical infrastructure. The Council is part of InfraGard San Diego. InfraGard’s mission is to “promote ongoing dialogue and timely communication between InfraGard members and the FBI—specifically concerning the security of, vulnerabilities in, and threats to critical infrastructure entities.”

The sector’s complex and dynamic environment makes identifying threats and assessing vulnerabilities difficult and requires that these tasks be addressed in a collaborative and creative fashion.Information Technology Sector functions are operated by a combination of entities - often owners and operators and their respective associations - that maintain and reconstitute the network, including the Internet. Although information technology infrastructure has a certain level of inherent resilience, its interdependent and interconnected structure presents challenges as well as opportunities for coordinating public and private sector preparedness and protection activities.

The San Diego CISO Round Table was founded in 2007 with 8 members and has grown now to 90+ members and meets quarterly. The Round Table consists of many different industries such as Energy, Critical Infrastructure, Medical/Hospitals, Defense, Manufacturing, Banking/Financial, E-commerce, and others.The focus of the Round Table is to share current threats, intel, and concerns as well as mentor the younger/newer CISOs with in the group. This promotes an atmosphere of learning and engagement for all members. The Round Table does not allow outside attendees/vendors to attend in order that everyone can speak candidly and adhere to the strict rule of confidentiality within this group.
