About Bill Holland

Computer systems hardware architect, focused on storage, networking, co-processors, and other accelerators that optimize the processing of data through the system. Extensive experience in architecting the server itself as well as clusters of servers interconnected to form larger scaleable system. Enjoy working with customers and partners to solve problems and deliver the best possible solution. Currently I work on sustaining the Facebook fleet of servers and storage across the world. We spend some of our time debugging and understanding new issues, and most of our time automating the detection and resolution of issues that are already understood.Previously worked with emerging technologies that had not yet reached their full potential (solid state storage, non-volatile memory, low latency networking), and technologies that had't even reached the lab yet (PCIe Gen4, NVMe over fabrics, CCIX, Gen-Z, OpenCAPI).-In other news... I have updated my patents list here on LinkedIn. I'm still only halfway through adding to the list. As of Decembet 2020 I have been granted 56 US patents. (might be a few submissions still working through the system.)

Listed skills include Hardware, Storage, Servers, Fibre Channel, and 36 others.
