Throughout my career at HCSO, a law enforcement agency comprised of over 500 employees & a $42 million annual budget, I had the honor of leading a great team of professionals overseeing E911, Communications (Dispatch), 800MHz Radio System Operations, Information Technology (I.T.), Finance & Budget, Human Resources, Emergency Management, Purchasing & Supply, Records & Fleet Management, as well as serving as the agency's chief negotiator for collective bargaining. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to help design & oversee construction of the County's first "hurricane worthy" Emergency Communications and Operations Center, as well as coordinate the merger & acquisition of Emergency Management, Animal Services, the County Detention facility and the consolidation of all 911 PSAPs into a single consolidated operation.

As the 911 Director, I had the opportunity to launch & oversee the initial efforts to consolidate all E911 & PSAP operations throughout the county. Starting with five separate Communications Centers, we successfully began bringing the jurisdictions & operations together with the eventual goal of one consolidated 911 center. At the same time, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to manage the purchase & implementation of the County's first 800MHz trunked radio system. In 1997, the Hernando County Sheriff's Office approached me with the opportunity to assume management of their E911 Communications & Dispatch Center & to bring all of my 911 & Radio System responsibilities with me. I accepted and began my career at HCSO.

Continuing my public safety career back in Florida (my home state), I had the opportunity to work as a 911 Call-Taker & Dispatcher, Communications Training Officer, Communications Training Supervisor, Communications Manger & Assistant Director of Emergency Operations, including the oversight of Emergency Management & Radiological Emergency Planning (local nuclear energy plant).
