Business applications for general, project and process based manufacturing, distribution as well as service and maintenance industries have grown into what today must be considered as 'complex' business systems. These application are expensive to acquire and implement and are typically cost justified with extensive cost benefit promises and ROI calculations against strict internal 'gate' processes.... So why do so few organisations measure what has actually been achieved by these systems after the implementation?... and more importantly, why do even fewer companies react and improve the utilisation of these applications by embarking on secondary implementation projects to fully deliver on the real business benefits ? In most instances the functions and processes that would deliver the extended benefits are part of the original requirements, and were always intended to be 'turned on', but were typically 'left off' the implementation to manage scope or resource and time constraints and now simply lie dormant within the application. You should have your business performing optimally against the criteria that were set at acquisition and realise the rewards by using ALL of the capabilities of the application that you paid for, but never got around to 'turning on'. bsci can help !
