My construction experience started with selling building materials, followed by renovating and building residences. It was as a student at the Boston Architectural College that I discovered the enjoyment in building and eventually working for the Boston architectural firm of Steffian Bradley as a draftsperson and clerk of the works. Moving to Barkan Construction was a natural step from the architect’s point of view to the contractor’s. While at Barkan we built a project for Mass General Hospital, opening a new door to the owner’s side. The relationships and building experience at MGH was terrific for six years before I returned to the contractor’s side of the business. Transitions are part of construction and because of many strong relationships I moved from project management to business development at Erland. The “three legged stool” is a common reference in the design and construction industry and I am fortunate to have worked for each leg. Specialties: The introduction, building a relationship, understanding the direction of the client, bringing the right team together.
