Successful project director for the largest automated welfare system in the nation with over 15,000 users in over 105 locations throughout Los Angeles County. P&L responsibilities for a $27,000,000 annual budget with a staff of 80 contractor and Unisys resources. Managed all facets of the project including application modification and enhancements and maintenance of over 15,000 programs; and operations support including LEADER private network, break/fix of local district office technology, and PMO LAN administration. Utilized PMI Project Management lifecycle knowledge areas to successfully manage all project management office (PMO) activities including project planning and scheduling, risk management, issue tracking and resolution, financial management, resource management, scheduling, and quality management. • Provided oversight and direction to the design, development, and implementation of 200 system enhancements in 2009 resulting in an increase in the number of user transactions from 7.1 million transactions per day to 7.8 million transactions per day. • Transition to new enterprise server technology with zero downtime to the customer.• Implemented temporary increase in food stamp benefit allotment due to ARRA of 2009 in 30 days resulting in approximately $14.5 million worth of additional food assistance to the County’s neediest citizen in the form of a supplemental food stamp benefit.• Received Certificate of Recognition for customer satisfaction. • Directed task force that led to the implementation of a pre-sort mail initiative resulting in a monthly savings of $6K in postage costs.

Responsibilities included the management, development, and implementation of the state quality assurance planning for all public assistance programs, including AFDC, Food Stamps, and Medicaid. Directed food stamp management evaluation reviews to ensure consistent application of policy and operations throughout the state. Served as state liaison with federal agencies in all error-reduction initiatives. Represented Florida at quarterly meetings of the six largest states for purposes of sharing error reduction strategies and innovations.
