Peak Downs Mine

Worked at BMA's Peak Downs Mine site for a vacation placement in the Governance & Technical Stewardship Team. I was involved in numerous multi-disciplinary engineering projects, and gained understanding of the importance of hard work and networking within a large company. My work culminated in the development and implementation of an Excel VBA macro used to automate the generation of critical equipment registers, which has been replicated at other BMA sites.

Tutored groups of 1st and 2nd year university students in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics and French, ranging in size from two to twelve students. Subjects included Thermodynamics, Statics and Dynamics, Engineering group projects, Calculus and Linear Algebra I & II, Discrete Mathematics I & II, Mathematical Analysis, Electricity and Magnetism, and Introductory French.

Gained professional engineering experience during a two month internship at JLW Middle East, a mechanical construction contractor located in Dubai, UAE, under the supervision of Bryan Heffernan. Worked as a junior mechanical engineer for HVAC services on the Al Maryah Mall project, including technical equipment selection and managing meetings with suppliers.
