Engineer Surveyor for leading insurer providing statutory and non statutory inspection & consultancy services in Ireland. Part of RSA's Commercial Group, Engineering Inspection & Consultancy employs a team of Engineer Surveyors and Consultancy Engineering Surveyor in ROI. My role specialized primarily in the in service inspection of pressure equipment, pressure systems and protective devices, inspection of air receivers, heating boilers, expansion vessels, horizontal multitubular steam boilers, blow down vessels, deaerators, clean steam generators, economisers, plate and shell & tube heat exchangers, steam receivers, autoclaves, thermoclaves, argon receivers, vacuum furnaces, process vessels, thermal oil boilers, co2 tanks, calorifiers, hydraulic accumulators, vertical steam boilers and fluidized bed boiler and water tube boilers. Also inspecting a wide range of lifting and handling machinery including lifting tackle, dock levelers, manual and powered hoist blocks, runway tracks, pillar cranes, fork trucks, telehandlers, excavators, loading shovels, electric overhead travelling cranes and mobile elevating working platforms.From May 2012 - March 2013 I was on secondment to a step up position with responsibility for the day to day running of the Irish team of Engineer Surveyors and delivering to KPI's and business objectives. Spending 20 hours per week managing the team and 20 hours per week servicing and inspecting my own clients.

Junior Engineer to Third Engineer serving on RO-RO vessels, oil tankers from VLCCs to ULCCs and sail training ships. Served on board Chevron Texaco's flag ship dynamic positioning shuttle tanker the MV Aberdeen which was originally built for the Captain oil field but served and offloaded from numerous oil fields in the North Sea transporting crude oil to refineries in Western Europe. Gained experience on reversible slow speed Diesel Engines and controllable pitch propellers, muff couplings, fixed and variable speed electric cargo pumps, purifiers, compressors, Wartsila Vasa generating sets, Alaborg steam boilers, Dynamic Positioning high voltage thrusters, Alstrom Integrated Control Systems, HT, LT and SW cooling systems. Completed Dynamic Positioning Engineering Watches as lead Engineer in charge of the machinery space whilst on station off loading and also for 24 hours periods whilst unmanned. Completed 5 yearly dry dock at Harland & Wolff Belfast. Served on board the ULCC Stena King 457,927 dwt and gained experience on 61Bar(g) Superheated Steam Watertube boilers and 45,000 Shp HP & LP steam turbines and inert gas systems. On board for 6 week repair period at ASRY Bahrain for major classification society repairs following collision.

11 months project work serving worldwide on merchant vessels from the UK, United States, Caribbean, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia to gain the necessary sea time and preparation for the Department of the Marine & Natural Resources written and oral examinations. Introduction to on board ship systems and quality and control procedures, sea survival, fire fighting and leadership courses.
