About Bill Mashek

My work career started as a river guide on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon when I was 18.. From that point I worked and ran rivers all over the world. Rubicon Adventures began in the early 1970s and is still going strong today. I was an early member of "Friends of the River"​ and active with river politics and environmental issues. Previous work experience includes employment as a carpenter, teacher and welder. Currently, serve on board with Bay area storm water project Volunteer: as a survey diver for "Reef Check"​. Member: American Academy of Under Water Sciences, America Outdoors, Education background: Biology Degree from Dominican University. Teaching credential from Sonoma State in 1980, worked with "at risk "​ youth in special education for four years. Evolved to termite work in 1984. In 1994 I became a principal at Northwest Termite and Pest Control Inc. My background is science based and leaning is environmentally inclined. I found my niche in Integrated Pest Management and completed a certificate program in Urban Entomology and Integrated Pest Management from Purdue University distance education in 1998. Northwest Termite was a socially and environmentally responsible company. We grew from a 350K per year company with 3 employees to over 2.5 million in annual sales and 9 employees. We were leaders in real estate inspections, IPM technology and "green"​ pest management . Northwest was also known as a group of "nice folks". In 2015 Northwest was Sold. I am currently Simi Retired and work part time as a pest inspector for We Care Pest and operate Rubicon Adventures seasonally.Specialties: Integrated Pest Management, Specialist in Real Estate WDO Inspections, conflict resolution, negotiation, sales. teaching and training.EMT, First Aid and AHA, EMSA CPR and First Aid Instructor Certifications, River Trips. NAUI Master Diver and Science Diver certification. SSI Dive Con pending.SUP Instructor Certification, Professional Stand Up Paddle Association (PSUPA), World Stand Up Paddle Association.
