Co-FounderCompass College Of Film And Media 1997 - 2023Grand Rapids, Michigan, UsBill was one of the founders of Compass Arts (along with Jim Hanon and Colorado philanthropist, Barney Visser) – the nonprofit film production studio that served as the launching pad for the micro-credentialing program, Compass Academy (eventually becoming a degree granting institution known as Compass College of Film + Media). He was Chairman of the Board for the organization's first nine years and served on the board for 25 years. Compass College was merged into the film program at Calvin University. -

These grants were awarded by the agency and employees would get extra time off outside of vacation and personal time to do good.During Bill's tenure leading Hanon McKendry, additional highlights included being inducted into the American Advertising Federation's (AAF) Hall of Achievement and having his work featured on the BBC's "Commercial Breakdown" and the syndicated television show "World’s Greatest Commercials.”In 2008, Bill and Hanon McKendry acquired an existing web marketing company, MINDSCAPE, to help grow the agency's resources and service offerings. In 2015, full ownership was returned to the original founders and, today, MINDSCAPE is an independent company and leading digital interactive and engagement company.In 2013, Hanon McKendry acquired The CSK Group in Colorado Springs, Colorado and both firms worked under the banner of Hanon McKendry.
