Joined senior management team of 65-person healthcare strategy consulting boutique. Generated/managed $3 million in revenues while launching outsourced business development practice. Representative assignments include:• Monetize portfolio of chemistries that stabilize intracellular RNA at room temperature;• Conduct a search for bolt-on acquisitions for a European medical parts manufacturer; • Create/execute strategy to entice Big Pharma to co-develop promising diabetes therapy.

Worked with senior management teams of small to medium-sized organizations ($50 million to $500 million) to build market driven strategies and practical implementation plans, including customer driven reengineering programs. Representative assignments include: • Developed the growth strategy for a $25 million behavioral health unit/community mental health center of a large urban healthcare system;• Lead a negotiating team to successfully forge a unique risk sharing collaboration between the radiology department of an academic medical center and GE Medical Systems to build the practice of the future in a new research institute;• Developed the premise for, and guided the merger of, two large specialty physician practices.

Founded and grew strategy consulting firm to 30 people. Responsible for teams delivering the firm’s strategy development and profit and cash improvement programs in the consumer products, manufacturing, retail and healthcare sectors. Sold firm in 1994 for 4x. Representative assignments include:• Lead a multi-disciplinary client team at a major academic medical center in the development of a primary care strategy funded with $40 million;• Designed integrated delivery system for a $250 million urban not-for-profit health system; • Conducted comprehensive market analyses/strategic reviews to determine how the brand equity of several mid-sized LBO’d retail chains could be grown and then built the marketing plans to improve market share and profitability.
