Working with computers for over thirty-five years, I enjoy the challenge of keeping up with the latest technologies and implementing solutions for the companies I support. When I started my career IBM mainframe computers were the staple of every medium to large size business, data was being backed-up onto paper cards (Keypunch), color monitors came in a choice of green or amber and a new device called the PC was replacing the typewriter. I was lucky to get a start in this industry at a very young age. Since then, I have seen and kept pace with many changes and challenges. I have learned how to evaluate technology that makes sense for each organization I support. Through thorough project planning I successfully implement cost effective solutions.Never one to sit still, I have always challenged myself to learn more. With many certifications to my credit, I always look for ways to enhance my skills and my value to my clients and employer. I continue to learn every day and always feel happier and more confident when I am challenged to learn something new. Being in a customer service business, I have always taken great pride in helping others. Technology can be very frustrating when it does not work. As a problem solver, I enjoy the response people have when I find a solution to their problem and help them understand it in layman’s terms. Taking pride in my work has served me well through the years and is a practice that will always be a part of me. In the words of Thomas Jefferson “I'm a greater believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it”.Lastly, I believe in giving back to my community. For the past thirty-two years I have volunteered with my local fire company as a firefighter-EMT. There is nothing more rewarding than coming to the aid of others in need and working as part of a team with a great group of people with similar values.
