Architected, led, and managed the team rebuilding an enterprise streaming application that manages display advertising in thousands of theaters across the US and Canada and resulted in a 21% cut in administrative costs that went straight to the bottom line.Created an internship program to bring in college students to get experience in a professional environment.Worked on a software system used by financial management firms to maintain client portfolios, conduct near real-time trades, and other financial management requirements.

Managed the creation, implementation, and expansion of a municipal website, denvergov.org. Included a content management system and multiple integration points with existing municipal systems.Created an internal Laboratory Information Management System that managed material safety sheets as well laboratory safety and maintenance protocols for an international environmental laboratory.Created a school bus routing application that took into account school boundaries, road and street traffic information, demographic information, and school start\end times to determine most optimal routes.

Worked in the Planning, Research, and Program Evaluation department. Primary responsibility was to support redistricting of school boundaries due to the end of busing, new construction, and city growth. Used COBOL to access mainframe student databases, Visual Basic, C, and MapBasic for client-side development, and MapInfo for GIS visualization. Interacted closely with the community, school administration, and the school board to try and resolve any issues and discrepencies.

This position was in the Department of Planning, Research, and Program Evaluation and was primarily responsible for office automation using Visual Basic, Access Basic, and Visual Basic for Applications. Created data-tracking and reporting applications in Microsoft Access, SPSS, Microsoft FoxPro, and Borland Paradox. Maintained departmental hardware, IBM PCs and terminal emulators, and software for Windows 3.x and Unix. Was trained in Small Unit Leadership, Combat Tactics, Weapons, and Hand-to-Hand Combat. My primary Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) was Anti-tank/Assault where I was responsible for tactical management of small teams skilled in the process of removing fortified and/or armored opponents. Secondary assignments included base and personal security as part of a Marine Security Force, anti-tank gunner with a weapons company in the Fleet Marine Force (FMF), and spotter with a scout platoon at a FMF battalion HQ. Medically discharged due to injuries received in training exercises in Okinawa, Japan.
