I started with track days in my street car, an Audi A6, when I got to where I was worried about hurting it I got a 944 just to play with on track days and got talked into taking race drivers school. My first race I came toward the green flag and everyone hit the power and I thought, what the heck have I done. Then between the first and second corner someone spun out several cars in front of me and cars started going everywhere. I almost made it past the melee when a car backed into my quarter panel. I was the least at fault and the only one who could not go on. Well I persevered and won a couple of trophies and graduated to Spec Racer Ford where I got to within a second or so of people who had been racing for 30 years. For starting at 50 I was pretty happy about that. "There is nothing like going into a 90 degree corner at 90 miles an hour with 5 of your best friends inches away" - one of my favorite quotes.
