As a nature-loving child from Portland, Oregon, I spent winters around Mount Hood, enjoying activities like sledding and skiing. These experiences ignited my passion for environmental stewardship. My eco-friendly tendencies were recognized in high school, leading to my senior year role as a volunteer manager of the recycling center, where I sorted colored glass bottles by smashing them into garbage cans. After noticing that raising kids as a music teacher was financially unsustainable, I shifted my focus to a management role in fire suppressant recycling, which I found to be an excellent fit.Throughout my career in clean agent fire suppression reclamation and service, I developed diverse skills ranging from customer service to regulatory compliance. Here are some highlights of my recent contributions to the industry:FM-200R: In 2010, when the EPA mandated greenhouse gas reporting for producers and users of HFCs, we anticipated regulations on HFCs like FM-200. At A-Gas, I led the project to license FM data from Chemours Company, eliminating barriers to reclaiming HFC-227ea (FM-200R). This initiative transformed HFC inventories into projected annual sales of $1.27 million and enabled stakeholders across the supply chain to engage in profitable and sustainable practices.DLA-Aviation: DLA-AV manages the DOD’s Ozone Depleting Substances Reserve, overseeing halon fire suppressants expected to support critical operations through 2065. Since 2002, DLA-AV has contracted with A-Gas for halon 1211 and 1301 reclamation and refurbishment. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I was appointed by the division head to ensure compliance with a crucial refurbishing contract. This effort not only preserved our long-term relationship with DLA-AV but also positioned us favorably for future contracts worth $500,000 to $1 million annually.Las Vegas Recharge Operation (LVRO): I joined A-Gas alongside my former company, H3R Clean Agents. A-Gas leadership recognized my potential to secure system cylinder recharge business in the western U.S., where H3R held market dominance. In April 2024, after coordinating with various departments, A-Gas launched the world’s first wholly-owned satellite recharge operation under ISO 9001 QMS protocols. LVRO is projected to generate $1.2 million in sales within its first year.I believe that we are at the dawn of a long, slow shift toward sustainability and circular economy solutions for the long-term health of the environment. Let's work together to make a healthy future for everyone!
