I was recruited by private equity owner Acorn Capital Growth to integrate and lead the strategic acquisition of a secure mobility platform for government customers. I created marketing, product management and software sales functions and positioned to compete against Apple and Samsung which generated the first revenue with U.S. and U.K. intelligence agencies and DoD customers. I established the partner model and the first OEM licensing win with Getac Inc. I developed the mobile business pitch and supported the process leading to the successful sale of the company to HKW Inc.

I was recruited by Allied Minds’ CEO to operate a portfolio of early-stage technology companies that needed leadership and guidance with business execution, strategy and funding. I managed the sale of Percipient Networks to Watchguard, generating returns in Allied Minds’ first successful exit.

OptioLabs pioneered advanced security, compliance and productivity solutions for Android phones. I led the company through a refocusing effort, reducing staff by 30% and expenses by 40% while increasing momentum with customer pilots and early sales.

OptioLabs purchased Oculis Labs in April 2015, and I joined as Chief Product Officer where I adapted the company business strategy to current market needs and built a product management organization.

I founded the company with investments from 5 angel investment groups and In-Q-Tel. I invented, patented and led development and commercialization of 2 novel data-in-use security software products for protecting information on computer displays. I established customer wins at the U.S. DoD and 2 Intelligence agencies, developed strategic partnership with 3M to bundle the solution and resell worldwide, and ultimately sold the company to OptioLabs SC Magazine review: “This is about the coolest and, at the same time, most useful security product we have seen in a long time. It is simple to use, very effective, and actually serves a real and important purpose”.

I was appointed by Governor Martin O’Malley to help oversee governance of the $120m early-stage investment company. I served as Board member, Vice Chair, and Treasurer. The Board is comprised of leaders in the State's technology community and contains representatives from the private, university, non-profit, and public sectors. I led Integration of marketing functions in the Rainbow Technologies merger, which doubled the company size and revenue. In this role I directed SafeNet's Encryption products business. Product lines included High Speed Encryption appliances (Ethernet, SONET, ATM, Frame, Link, etc), SafeNet Management Center, and ProtectDrive Data-at-Rest.
