Designing best onboarding experiences and streamlining training for all new hires for GEODIS. Using instructional design theories to develop training that is both interactive and engaging.

As a Supervisor in Training with Geodis, I'm learning the ends and outs of warehouse logistics and managing a large staff of workers. The Supervisor in Training role is a floor manager, but wears many hats such as directing shipping and receiving orders both physically and by managing orders in the Synapse system at the command center. I also have gained experience as an operator on a Stand-Up Reach (SUR) and an Order Picker (OP) as well as managed production lines by organizing small groups of employees to meat daily production goals. It's a fast paced, physical environment that makes you think fast under pressure.

Visit and review local restaurants within the metro East area of Illinois. Provides an emphasis on promoting locally owned businesses and showcasing their creativity in varying cuisines. Provide a service for the local community to spotlight restaurants with the monthly “Secret Diner” column.

My responsibilities include bringing the best prep sports coverage possible to the River Bend and Granite City areas covering six high schools and managing a staff of contributors for newspapers and website, www.advantagenews.com. I write feature stories and columns to keep my fingers on the pulse of the local sports world. I also help out when needed in the news department. Below are some samples of stories I've written for the AdVantage.■ Received community accolades for feature stories on two coaches who lost their battle with cancer.■ Created an organized schedule and distributed it in advance to ensure proper coverage of events.■ Developed a Facebook page and posted stories, photos and polls to expand targeted audience reach, receiving the highest percentage of sports reader interaction among area print media, according to Facebook analytics.■ Created the hashtag #advsports and implemented use of Twitter, ensuring readers received the most up-to-date news. ■ Key member of team that introduced the Edwardsville edition, which increased readership, expanded the newspaper’s reach and improved the paper’s image.■ Created a sports page template that allowed for unique content for each city, saving design time.■ Initiated and implemented video sports coverage, which was posted on advantagenews.com and on the Facebook sports page.

I critiqued restaurants both locally and abroad and wrote reviews. I did this as a freelance writer in addition to my full time position at the AdVantage.

I covered local prep, collegiate and professional sports teams for the Intelligencer, coupled with layout and design responsibilities. My job obligations also included column and feature writing and managing our two-man staff.■ Received Media Excellence Award from the United States Tennis Association for outstanding media coverage of tennis in the Missouri Valley District, 2011 and 2012.■ Awarded second place from the Southern Illinois Editorial Association in 2011 for sports coverage.

I started my career at Sears in small ticket sales, working in hardware, lawn and garden and sporting goods. I continually met and exceeded sales goals in those departments.Later I worked my way up to Remodel Coordinator, managing a team of workers through a remodel of the store and then became the In Store Marketing Manager. I directed a team of workers and was in charge of signing all of the merchandise in the store. Myself and my team were crucial in assisting the sales staffs during the busy Christmas selling period.I finished my career at Sears back on the sales floor in big ticket sales, selling appliances.

I wrote press releases, designed game programs, developed ideas for on field promotions, sold sponsorships, managed interns and other day-to-day operations. I also worked community relations events with our mascot and players and was the official scorer for all home games.
