If you just send me a default invite, I will ignore it.So on to the fun stuff: I help people build more secure Internet applications.In doing this for years and years, I have gathered a wide variey of skillsets. I started with HTML in 1991, when you needed to compile the web server code from CERN. I started with .NET in 2000, when Microsoft was DHLing builds of the compiler to author's houses. I started with web services in 2002, when SOAP was largely something you washed with.Eventually, I got into larger and larger connected systems, and now I have twenty years of experience in a variety of widely connected, loosely coupled transactional systems. As such, I have spent an inordinate amount of time in the last several years writing about and working with Web Services in SOAP and REST. I am an author of Windows 8 Application Development with HTML5 for Dummies, C# 5 for Dummies, and Visual Basic .NET for Dummies (among others), and a frequent contributor to MSDN, The Intel Developer Forum, and Builder.com. I have recently been an invited speaker for BlackHat, CodeMash, DerbyCon, INETA, DevEssentials, OWASP and the Association of Information Technology Professionals. Technical ArchitectProducts Of Innovative New Technology Aug 2002 - Jan 2013* Built an HTML5 Windows 8 travel application for a major airline.* Participated in the design, development and securing of a large HTML5 Windows 8 application for Intel for their Mobile Applications initiative, as reported by CIO Magazine.* Assisted the State of Ohio in setting up a domain federation and use Windows Identity Foundation to provide claims based security for its portal and applications.* Designed and developed a WCF service layer for a video playback application built with Adobe Flex. This application services millions of requests a week for unemployed Ohioans seeking job search training.* Provided team leadership and solution architecture to an international five million dollar travel services application with a 100,000 user installed base. Technology used includes WPF, WCF, WF and the Unity framework.* Designed and constructed, using offshore assistance, Learning Management System software-as-a-service using ASP.NET 2.0, SQL Server 2005, WCF and Telligent community Server.
