About Bill Stahm

Design new and support existing systems at JCMT and UKIRT telescopes. Recent work includes designing data timing system with atomic clock signal located at SMA telescope and added 18-32 GHz RF tuning signal, converting to laser and send via fiber to JCMT. At JCMT convert laser back to RF signal to sync system. Also maintain and upgrade current systems. Along with electrical engineering also do mechanical design using AutoCAD Fusion 360.New design and upkeep on:James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (JCMT)Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) for Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI)United Kingdom Infrared Telescope (UKIRT)As you can see from photos there are many engineering adventures.
