It's a little scary to think I have been writing professionally for more than 30 years, but it's been a great ride, and it continues to be.I'm fortunate to have a full-time job in newspapers. I am even luckier to have a job that gives me a chance to work as a city editor on Sundays, cover a 17-town county during the week, and also be involved in a lot of social media, as well as pagination.Outside the newsroom, I am involved in community service for Special Olympics, and re-creation of the Middle Ages as a hobby.I also do resumes and other writing projects, including blogging.My background?For 10 years of my career, I went flat-out as a newspaper reporter and editor, mostly in sports. For the next 16 I taught, mostly 11th Grade U.S. History. I was always active as a volunteer and in handling public relations, National Honor Society and other activities for my school.After moving to upstate New York in 2007, I have worked on a youth grant and as an employment counselor, and in December 2010 got back into the business at Manchester Newspapers.I am a writer. I have novels and newspaper columns in production, I have written a beer blog. I write obituaries, even for people who are still alive. That way they get to say what they want when they are gone.I write resumes, press releases and about anything else. I am am also a Special Olympics volunteer and fund-raiser.
