About Bill Wetherell

I’ve spent 25+ years designing products used by billions of people across spaces like consumer, enterprise, entertainment, communications, productivity, fintech, and more. I’ve led design teams of all sizes, from “one pizza” teams to a 120-person global design org, at small companies you may not have heard of and big ones you probably have – like DocuSign, BlackRock, Disney, and AOL. I love partnering with teams who are passionate about making products with – not for – their customers.     Most people think of DocuSign as a simple eSign product. Turns out it’s much deeper, with products in contract management, identity verification, remote notary, real estate, and more. I led design + research for all products used by 1M+ customers and 1B+ users worldwide:- Grew team 6x from 20 (pre-IPO) to 120 across offices in North America and Europe as we grew to $2B in revenue.- Oversaw design, design operations, design systems, and research across 12+ product lines on web, mobile, and 300+ partner integrations (e.g. Salesforce, Zoom, Microsoft, etc.).- Rolled out new design system aligned to new brand- Led cross-company workshops to envision future product direction for DocuSign’s Agreement Cloud strategy- Introduced ‘Jobs to Be Done’ framework across product org to help teams align around “problems to be solved” instead of “solutions to implement.”
