Mr. Bailey founded Saltstone Capital Management in 2016, a hedge fund focused on publicly traded companies and select privately placed investments operating along the energy value chain and inclusive of green tech companies. Saltstone assessed value by identifying significant trends derived from a detailed bottoms-up fundamental research process. In aggregate, the firm raised approximately $80 million of committed capital across its legacy hedge fund strategy and multiple special purpose vehicles.Since becoming a portfolio manager, Mr. Bailey has outperformed his respective benchmark indices despite a historic correction in energy equities and unprecedented volatility. Recently he has appeared on podcasts and has periodically been quoted in publications such as Bloomberg and Reuters.---After being appointed sole portfolio manager for the late, T. Boone Pickens' long/short equity strategy, BP Capital Energy Horizons, the energy sector depreciated by ~90% from Mr. Bailey’s first day on December 1st, 2014, until the lows on March 18th, 2020. In fact, more than 75% of Mr. Bailey’s career, as a portfolio manager, was spent in a bear market, but he wouldn't trade those trials and tribulations for anything.
