Permian

Began working for Shell after the purchase of Chesapeake's Permian assets. I worked with our lease operators as a mentor and assisted with day-to-day production supervision in the Kermit/Mentone area. I moved into the Optimization group where I was responsible for daily swabbing operations and worked closely with the chemical team.

Kermit, Barstow, Texas

I oversaw daily production and workovers. Supervised/mentored lease operators, worked closely with construction foreman and production engineers. Optimized rod pump POCs, gas lifts and ESP operations. Supervised up to three pulling units and a swab rig daily. Entered reports in Wellview for each job performed.

Permian

Continued my development as a production supervisor. Managed up to 22 direct reports. Began staking, building well locations, roads, frac pits. Responsible for choosing the most sensible route for power lines, roads, pipelines, water transfer systems and CTB sites based on future drilling program. Part of design team for CTBs, responsible for the construction of these CTBs. Oversaw roustabout gangs, electricians, dirt work, lease operators, workover/completion consultants. Brought on new wells and oversaw flowback operations. Worked closely with production, facility, drilling, SCADA engineers. Entered all construction related reports in Wellview, monitored reports entered by consultants. Responsible for securing all needed services and parts on time and on budget.

Permian

Began officially mentoring/supervising lease operators. Played a key role in our SCADA testing and implementation program. Installed, programmed, tested and performed repairs as needed to SCADA, plungerlift and gas measurement equipment. Assisted in design of Cygnet screens, configured alarm callouts and trained other divisions/areas in Cygnet usage. Began performing single stage fracs and completions on vertical wells. Responsible for bringing on new wells and flowback operations. Played major role in reducing LOE in my area.

I performed the duties of a pumper/lease operator. Determined specific chemical needs, set rates and tracked performance. Became very knowledgeable with plunger lift operations, began supervising well intervention and workovers. Continued building my skills in cost-effective decision making.

It was actually still called Enron Oil and Gas when I was there. I was a pumper responsible for the day to day operation of oil and gas producing wells using multiple forms of artificial lift methods. I also had several compressor stations with various sizes of compressors including 3516s and de-hy units. Performed maintenance and repairs on chemical pumps, circ pumps and light roustabout work.
