-Design and implement complex algorithms used for silicon wafer handling systems on Ion implanters for the semiconductor industry.-Troubleshoot and correct any issues that arise during normal machine operation at the factory or in the field.- Work with team members to develop necessary improvements needed for updated motion control hardware/software to increase reliability and functionality.- Travel on short notice to assist problematic endstation (robotic) issues at customer sites.

- Collaborated with team member to develop the IO control software used in a flat panel display ion implanter. The software was written in C/C++ in a VxWorks environment.- Designed and coded auto routines for a complex vacuum system and detailed ion beam tuning algorithms.- Created state machines for power supplies, faraday controllers, vacuum components and power distribution boxes. - Integrated safety interlocks into the software to keep equipment operators from accidentally injuring someone or breaking something.- Developed a C# program to parse xml data taken out of an excel IO map and used to generate source and header files for creating objects, reporting errors and signal information. - Supported software at customer sites.- Documented procedures for system setup, turn on, shutdown and preventive maintenance.

- Designed and integrated motion controllers, control system interfaces, harnesses, wire run lists and pneumatics for the Purion, new product Ion Implanter.- Created system schematics used for manufacturing assembly and troubleshooting.- Improved product quality by reviewing and completing ECO’s received from the field and the manufacturing floor.- Collaborated with other groups to define harness layout, packaging and component selection.

- Assisted in the development and programming of the PMAC control system for the high energy robotic handling system.- Worldwide test engineer for Ion Implanters.- Solved hardware issues for electronic controls in Ion Implanters.- Assisted in product support of newly marketed high energy ion implanter using Axcelis patented LINAC technology.- Built and assembled complex precision electromechanical assemblies and subassemblies from engineering drawing documentation and specifications. - Manufactured documentation and specifications, while also correcting any identifiable problems.- Provided written and verbal feedback concerning test procedures, problems, engineering design, parts procurement, and schedule conflicts.- Demonstrated leadership capability in mechanical, electrical, beam, and process testing and troubleshooting on ion implanters at customer sites.

- Tested accelerometers and gyro sensors by performed PSD’s and rate tests.- Designed, calibrated and tested Kyocera packages.- Participated in modularity workshops in an attempt to develop the Trident guidance system into a more modular system.- Aided systems engineering and packaging for the Trident system. Made sure each signal in the system was accounted for.- Developed a data dictionary for the Trident system, which characterized data being transmitted and received between modules.
