I am currently a Teacher of experience of 4 years. I have worked in both KS1 and KS2, however mostly KS2, currently in year 5 (aged 10). I have the responsibility for the education and welfare of a designated class. I am to be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the class ensuring equality of opportunity for all. I treat pupils with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and at all times observing proper boundaries. I consistently work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with pupils, colleagues and members of the SLT. Daily, I take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school. My duties to teaching: I am to maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of the teaching of my subject (currently science lead) and take account of wider curriculum developments which are relevant. I plan lessons and sequences of progressive lessons to meet pupils’ individual learning needs. I use a range of appropriate strategies online and paper resourced to meet the needs of pupils. I assess, monitor and record the progress of pupils and give them clear and constructive feedback. To ensure that, as a result of my teaching, my pupils achieve well relative to their prior attainment, making continual progress. I contribute to the preparation and development of learning, schemes of work, teaching materials, methods of teaching and marking and pastoral arrangements throughout the school, including school trips, special assemblies, performances and special events when necessary. Other than pupil care, I also plan, manage and organise the work of other adults (TAs, LSAs) assigned to the classroom in order to have a positive impact on pupil progress. I liaise and communicate to colleges to ensure that other adults assigned to the classroom meet all of the responsibilities as set out in their job descriptions, in a timely and effective manner.
