Mr. Cox is a nationally recognized expert in the field of crash reconstruction and impact biomechanics. The focus of his training, education and experience is crash reconstruction, biomechanical analysis, fraud analysis and biomechanical research and testing.He has 37+ years’ experience as an analyst, consultant and testifying expert in the field of transportation crash reconstruction and impact biomechanics. In 1995, he designed and tested a crash sled to study occupant dynamics and injury mechanism in human volunteers. Since 1995, he has conducted hundreds of crash tests with human subjects. He also conducted a 300-hour study, sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics lab studying the correlation between seat geometry and neck injury. Mr. Cox has been a frequent lecturer on the topics of crash reconstruction and impact biomechanics. His audiences have included business, legal, and insurance professionals, as well as, members of his peer group. He has been featured as an expert in network broadcast news stories in Houston, Phoenix, and Providence, RI, as well as, two programs on the Discovery Channel. Most recently, he served as a consultant on impact biomechanics to actor/director Quentin Tarantino on a crash stunt and scene for the recently release movie entitled, “Death Proof.” Most recently, he provided scientific expertise for a History Channel program entitled, “Stan Lee’s Superhuman.”Mr. Cox has authored articles on crash reconstruction and related subjects for national publications and peer-review journals.
