For the last 40 years, I have been working with the concepts of thermal management and sustainability starting with the business of passive ventilation of enclosed attics; my patents have concentrated in passive air flow; however, now we are expanding into passive insulation issues applying nano-insulation of enclosed spaces; ie entire buildings.Heat abatement is a serious and urgent endeavor for the insulation industry because habitable spaces can be too hot for comfortable use and result in more and more use of air conditioning installations which are derived from fossil fuels! Renewable energy solutions are such a small part of the energy picture (1%?) so they are just not a complete solution; plus, with increased renewable mechanization comes various other forms of pollution arising from the materials associated with renewable resources. We have been wasting resources cavalierly; without knowing before how much time we had to become more efficient and sustainable. Now we know the meaning of 3 degrees of margin within which to continue to live on this earth. In other words, in this short moment, it does at matter how much we quantify the use or abuse of resources; because we now know how much time we have to change the game. We have wasted time! To be sure, it never mattered because we did not think in terms of time before now. Now w know that 10, 20 30, or 40 years matter; after that, there is no more time.We will determine as rapidly as possible in our lab the science to determine to what extent our products can be used to limit overall consumption of all energy resources. We need to back away from total house air conditioning and total dependence on the electricity derived from fossil fuels.We are moving slowly toward renewables to simply cool the interior to an ambient temperature. What about now? Reduce consumption! Reduce demand.
