In 2004 at the age of 42, my mental health started falling apart. And just as happens to many of us, it was because I started seeking the meaning of life and thinking that there has to be more to life than this. I read all sorts of books and sought answers everywhere but nothing really helped me to cope with the loss of sanity and the fear and dread of not understanding what was happening to me. At one point I was lying in bed at night crying and hiding what was going on for me from my family and work mates. It was a very disturbing time and it was only when I completely fell apart after the death of a child that my higher guidance could get through the cracks. This newfound relationship with a guidance beyond my closed egoic level of functioning was the help that I needed to get me through this disturbing phase of development and understand what was going on. Unbeknown to me at the time, I was in midlife crisis and spiritual awakening and it was down to my own materialistic success that this was happening. I was being invited to awaken to the next level of life; to return to being the truth of who I am from how I had psychologically adapted to get through childhood. The difficulty with our return to truth however is that the psychologically functioning self that we became to get through childhood, tries to keep us the way that has helped us to survive. But this psychologically functioning self is not the real you and it is what is causing the disturbances within your self as well as within your personal and professional relationships. This crisis and time of re-awakening is then my speciality and what I have been helping others with for the past 15 years. My qualification to be able to do this work coming from having travelled the road my self, as well as study for 6 years at The Institute of Psychosynthesis in London before going on to awaken further through several other teachings and trainings. This work can been seen as personal development, enlightenment, mindfulness, spirituality, embodiment, therapy, spiritual awakening, self-esteem work, developing presence, ego transcendence, self-confidence work etc. etc. and the transformation and return to sanity is facilitated by creating a space of love, understanding, compassion, acceptance, and forgiveness as well as spiritual/developmental education. So like some psychological chameleon that adapts its appearance to different environments; we create a psychological facade for each concerning situation so that we can feel safe. This shell of protection or egg/ego gradually becomes our initial childhood personality/sense of self and we use this as our interface with the world as our true self only returns in the moments when it/we feel safe enough to do so. For some this remains that way for the rest of their life but for most of us and from a more long term perspective, our true self waits for a large part of our life until it/we feel consistently more secure in the world and feel safe enough to show up on a more consistent basis. This transformation, that is often referred to as a spiritual awakening; is facilitated by this true Self calling us into full realisation of who we truly are as we have always truly been and as who we were when we entered the world: the embodiment of pure divine love awakening unto its Self. The calling of the Self is strong and it causes all sorts of beautiful and disturbing experiences to get us there regardless of the consequence in many cases. So here we are in adulthood, in our family, in working relationships and caught up in the middle of this reality whilst being completely ignorant of what's really going on in life. This Self realisation process sparking our psychological distortions off of each other unconsciously in search of transformation with no one there to help us to see what's really going on. Wondering why our career is not progressing as we want or why our relationships are such a struggle. And this is where I come in, helping you from the struggle that you are in, to the joy that awaits you on the other side. You are ready: message me. Show less

Our foster daughter (as we call her) has been with us since birth and is now a beautiful young teenager. As well as providing this 'permanence placement' we also provide 'out of hours emergency foster care' where we are available from 5pm onwards for when an emergency place is required and the main social work services are not fully available. On average this sees us taking 20 to 30 female teenagers per year with the record being 50 a few years ago. This tends to be the typical age group although we also provide for babies and sibling groups.A large capacity of being able to be compassionate and understanding and sympathetic is required to be a good fostercarer and understanding our journey through life as I explain above makes all the difference. Learning all of the various aspects of the job such as; dealing with clients, pricing work, buying, dealing with authorities, employment, wages, vat etc. etc. And I loved it all. 21 years of being W Grant Joiners and Contractors. Extensions, renovations, alterations, minor works, new builds; all of it was great but also led to my collapse and new awakening. An amazing time that I look back on with much fondness and memories. The collapse and awakening that I refer to can be likened to completing a level on a game and then being invited to start at the beginning of a whole new higher level. In my case, (as is the case for many) this took the form of getting the wife, the kids, the mortgage, the house in the country, the life insurance and pension in place and suddenly arriving at a place of security. This also then creating a situation where I looked up to see what was next and nothing was immediately evident. This was the point where many others arrive and I pondered; there has to be more to life than this. Unbeknown to me at the time, this sub-conscious calling out was what initiated my awakening into the second half of life. Show less
