Primary duties and responsibilities for this position include: day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for operating systems, workstations, and servers. Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedule installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Monitor and tune the system to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensure workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Implement and promote standard operating procedures. Conduct hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines

Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of the Pentagon US Army Human Resources Command (HRC) Deployed Theater Accountability System (DTAS) provides U.S. commanders with up-to-the-minute headcount information on the 170,000 deployed soldiers. Duties include installation and configuration of IBM Blade Center HS21, HS22 Blade servers using IBM Server Guide CD installing Windows 2003 R2 and Windows 2008 standard editions, using Army Gold Disk to assist in server lock down procedures.•Resolving, escalating customer and vendor issues•Documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)•Routine account maintenance in an active directory environment i.e. creating and deleting users, adding user to specified groups, ensuring the proper drives are being mapped upon login•Routine hardware maintenance of 153 IBM blade servers located at the Pentagon, FAA, and HP Herndon locations. •Part of Team responsible for care and maintenance of Anti Virus servers running Norton Anti Virus version 10.x•Responsible for periodic Patching all servers and workstations using WSUS version 3.0 Sp2•IBM Blade Center Advanced Management Module•Retina Vulnerability Management & Assessment•Remedy Helpdesk Ticket System
