Rewind Scotland, set in the beautiful surroundings of Scone Palace was also launched this year achieving strong sales and critical acclaim. The brand’s success in the UK had not gone unnoticed and was approached by a number of promoters in both South Africa and Australia with a view to taking Rewind international.2012 saw renewed growth in the UK – with Rewind Henley selling out in record time, and Rewind Scotland increasing its attendance figures by over 40%. In addition, the interest expressed in taking the brand to other countries in 2011 came to fruition with four events held in South African cities of Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town throughout the year.Far from its small roots, Rewind has swiftly become the world’s largest 1980s music festival series, and 2013 will see two festivals held in the UK as well as international events in Dubai, Malaysia, Thailand and South Africa, featuring artists as diverse as Billy Ocean, ABC, Kim Wilde, B-52s and OMD.
