Reporting to the… Show more >>Procurement Specialist for the U.S Mission to Kenya, a class one mission which includes a chancery Nox and Nec, large warehouse complex, with 298 owned or leased residences, US Army Medical Research Unit, Peace Corps and CDC. >> Serve the Embassy as a resource expert on all procurement contracting including documenting complex construction contracts including pre-solicitation, issuing and managing RFQ’s and RFP’s to pre-award conference(s). Reporting to the Contracting Officer, the role entails providing recommendations to requesters on the development of scope of work for completeness and correct insufficiencies with the following key deliverables: • Preparing technical evaluation plan(s) to provide guidance to the technical evaluation panel to ensure that all the offers are treated fairly and equally.• Reviewing technical evaluation reports and requests for clarifications when necessary.• Conducting market price surveys for comparison to ensure quality and competitive goods & services are purchased at all times.• Reviewing invoices to determine that all have been appropriately acted upon.• Ensuring that inspection, acceptance and property reports are filled correctly for ease of reference. Accomplishments • Championed vendor vetting: approval of new vendors, which have increase supplier base geared towards ensuring quality goods and services, are provided to the Mission at competitive prices and timely. This has reduced monopoly tendencies by suppliers. • Eagle Award: For creativity and innovation in helping the American Embassy, reduce VAT cost by over $16,000 per year.• Staff of the Quarter Nominee: January to April 2017 for impressive teamwork and innovation of cost-effective processes in GSO procurement.
