Supervisor of 55 gulf oil spill clean up workers. The job entailed, accounting for all of my workers every morning; making sure tents, supplies and PPE were in stock and with my crew at all times per OSHA guidelines. Before leaving U.S.E.S. Home base, I was in charge of the S.A.R. And educating my crew on proper PPE to wear and what zones to wear it in, possible safety hazards and how to avoid them and stay safe. Once to the beach I scouted my area and set my tents out and educated my workers on where the hot and safe zones were according to my HAZWOPER and OSHA training. Once set up cleaning crews were located in areas to get the most productivity out of the work day. During the work day I kept up with OSHA charts for break/work periods based on the temperature and weather conditions while also keeping a keen eye out for symptoms of dehydration and fatigue to make sure my workers stayed healthy. At the end of the day all tar balls collected had to travel from proper hot to safe zones and be disposed of properly as to not contaminate the environment.
