Directs, develops, and oversees the general health and safety policies and procedures of Mills Supply. Ensures that Mills Supply is in compliance with OSHA and other state, local, or industry specific regulations and that periodic safety audits are conducted. Provides programs that ensure a safe workplace including safety orientations, skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous material disposal procedures, and the use of protective equipment. Develops a systemic process to collect data and analyze the causes of accidents and generate required reporting. Implements initiatives to reduce and prevent accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards.

A crew chief is a work leader responsible for directing and participating in the work of the crew of one piece of firefighting apparatus. Performs standby duty during aircraft fueling and defueling, engine maintenance and testing, welding and burning on fueled and/or armed aircraft, or ammunition handling; andd. Maintains constant awareness of the frequent changes in cockpit design, ordnance placement, and cabin layouts to determine how they affect the difficulty of rescue and fighting fires.
