I build spaces where people can solve hard problems together. For twenty years, I've been interested in what happens when different kinds of minds connect. Not in boardrooms, but in workshops and labs and community spaces. As a Marine, I learned about what makes mission-driven teams work. As a first-generation college graduate, I learned about barriers. As someone who thinks differently, I learned about edges. These lessons shape my work.At Maker Labs, we create spaces for people working on the pressing problems facing civil society. We gather smart folks who see things differently and give them room to build. And whatever resources we can muster to quicken and amplify the impact of their work.Current projects:1. Public Good App House: Helping technologists build things that matter https://www.publicgoodapphouse.org/2. Accelerating Makers: Connecting builders and nonprofits around purpose-built tools for public good https://acceleratingmakers.publicgoodapphouse.org/3. The Wednesday Effect: Rooms for untold stories www.wednesdayeffect.comWhat happens when people stop performing and start connecting.I believe technology should open doors, not close them. If you're building something worthwhile, I'd like to hear about it.(INFJ. Vipassana practitioner. Sometimes I disappear on long bike rides.)
