During this time, I:• Developed hands-on maintenance and operations skills as an enlisted Nuclear Machinist Mate• Took advantage of every opportunity to expand my education and knowledge, earning a BSME, two Master's degrees, PMP certification, and numerous trade and vocational certifications• Trained and led high-performing teams from 5 to 130 people in complex, at-sea operations on multiple nuclear submarines • Was hand-picked to serve in high-impact, high-visibility roles as a Special Assistant to both the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) and to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS); demonstrating superior skills in senior leader support and decision making, strategic communications, public and congressional engagement, strategy and policy development, and programming and budgeting• Served as the senior security cooperation program manager on the Joint Staff; working with multiple DoD and interagency partners to improve transparency and accountability across a $6.4 billion security cooperation budget impacting 154 nations.Since transitioning from the Navy, I continue to seek out technically difficult and rewarding opportunities, including:• Senior Consultant, working on classified supersonic and hypersonic missile development programs for the Navy• Technical Program Manager for Reactor Innovation at Idaho National Lab (INL), responsible for collaborating with shareholders across the government and private sectors to support testing of advanced nuclear reactor designs in an INL nuclear test bed• Vice President of Technical Operations, Government Affairs for a tech startup developing liquid immersion cooling (single and 2 phase) for high performance compute on the edge and in datacentersI get excited when I can work with and/or lead other passionate people to solve complex technical problems in innovative ways.
