He is actively supporting climate change action, biodiversity improvement and has a personal interest in regenerative agriculture.Billy is an Associate Director at Cogency, Melbourne - a boutique planning firm focused on renewable energy and circular economy. He has ten years' experience in prominent private sector consultancies and local and state governments in Victoria. Previously Billy was an Associate Director at Urbis, and during his four years there was involved in major city-shaping, across some of Melbourne's largest urban renewal sites - such as Lilydale Quarry and Sandown Racecourse - and other residential and mixed-use developments, including The Mills mixed-use project in New Norfolk, Tasmania. Prior to Urbis, Billy has four years' experience as a Strategic and Statutory Planner in a rural council, and also founded Greenham Urban Planning, a consultancy to provide clients with statutory and strategic planning advice. His sense of adventure then took him on an epic eighteen-month world-wide trip. While at Glenelg Shire Council Billy took an energetic approach to a diverse range of planning issues and was Project Coordinator on the major Portland Industrial Land Strategy. He managed various strategic planning projects and built extensive statutory planning experience. His personable and professional attitude earned high praise from colleagues, managers and customers alike.Billy graduated from the Masters of Urban Planning, University of Melbourne as the 2013 valedictorian.
