On December 17, 2008, I was hired as the 1st Police Chief for the newly created Dunwoody Police Department. My marching orders were to hire, train, and equip the entire police department by April 1, 2009. After hiring key members of the senior staff, we worked tirelessly for the next 3 months and achieved our goal. We hired 40 sworn officers and 8 civilians. The Dunwoody Police Department began providing police services to the citizens of Dunwoody on April 1, 2009.
