I joined the firm currently known as Dabbs, Hickman Hill & Cannon, LLP in 1974. In 1983 I became a partner, and served as managing partner from 1998-2008. I hold licenses as a CPA in both Georgia and Florida and additionally, am licensed and certified by the AICPA in Financial Forensics. In August 2020, I was elected Georgia State Senator for District 4. In this capacity, I represent Bulloch, Candler, Effingham, Emanuel, Evans, and Tattnall counties.In response to the proliferation of fraud in businesses, both in type and sophistication, under my direction, the firm has ramped up its Forensics practice. My passion and expertise in this area bring tangible value in fraud prevention and detection to the firm’s clients.My managerial responsibilities stem from a wide range of expertise including individual and corporate taxation, litigation support, and small business planning. I have served as a Chapter 11 Examiner in the District of South Carolina as well as the Accountant for the Trustee in Bankruptcy for Chapter 11 cases in Georgia. In addition, I oversee the audit, review and compilation practices of the firm. In my role leading the forensic practice at Dabbs, Hickman, Hill & Cannon, LLP, I have provided expert testimony for the Superior Courts of Bulloch County, Candler County, Chatham County, Effingham County, and Laurens County, Georgia. Additionally, I have appeared in Federal Bankruptcy Court in Bulloch County and Chatham County, Georgia, and in Columbia, South Carolina, as well as the Federal Courts of Augusta, Georgia and Savannah, Georgia.I enjoy being active civically and professionally, being committed to supporting mission- aligned organizations with my experience. At Georgia Southern University, my alma mater, I serve on the Board of Trustees for the Georgia Southern University Foundation, Inc. as well as the Advisory Council for the School of Accountancy. Additionally, I currently serve on the Boards of Excelsior Electric Membership Corporation and East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
