I am currently a Junior at the University of Toledo majoring in Finance and minoring in Economics. Dealing with numbers and different patterns were always fascinating to me because I was also the person to ask why and how these numbers work. This is what drove me to become a Finance major to learn and get a better understanding of a field I am passionate about. I am currently working part time during the week for Pat’s Plumbing and Heating. This is the first time I am working part time during the school year and I have improved dramatically in prioritizing my tasks at hand while planning for the current week. I have demonstrated many transferable skills needed for this field. For example, I’ve needed to communicate effectively with the homeowner to achieve the goal that they want to see. Whether that be an electrical layout or picking out different fixtures, I’m the one communicating with them trying to figure out what’s going to best fit for them. I need to analyze the job site and figure out what the best and most effective way to fix the problem at hand. After graduation I would like to work for a company where I can gain experience in the stock market and learn different techniques in the market, so I can better myself and other companies in the market. I take initiatives because I like to develop goals and build confidence in myself when these goals are achieved. I take pride in my work to show people I can be independent when I need to be. At the end of the day, if you cannot stand behind your work, why do it in the first place?
