About Billy Shebar

I founded 110th Street Films with David Roberts in 2017 to explore new approaches to documentary film. We created High Noon on the Waterfront (TCM, HBO), featuring John Turturro and Edward Norton; Doctor’s Orders (Discovery+), and Trump Bites (NY Times, ARTE) with animator Bill Plympton. My prior credits include Dark Matter, starring Meryl Streep, which won the Alfred P. Sloan Prize at Sundance, and the acclaimed docuseries DarkNet (Showtime). I'm currently directing a documentary about the pioneering composer and multimedia artist Meredith Monk with funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
