Being a former car mechanic and then being in the fire service for thirty years has given me several life experiences and skills that are totally transferrable.I have always liked fixing things and creating solutions and this led me to winning the BBC Tomorrows World award for innovative individual.I would always look for solutions. We are now in a climate and energy crisis, and we still hear people talking about the issues but telling you nothing and complain endlessly about the problems but have no solutions. The solution is to get a renewable energy generator to create on demand power that will compete with the instantaneous power created by fossil fuels. If you can achieve this, you give people energy security and help reduce the rate of climate change. Some people dismiss static air at atmospheric pressure as an external energy source as it has low energy density. And yet if I exert a pressure of 101,325pa (1atm) on the surface of a piston with a 1 metre surface area, it exerts a force of 101,325 Newtons. If you can mechanically exert a lower opposing force, you will create motion. If you can reverse the process, you can create reciprocating motion, like a car engine. The greater the surface area, the greater the force, and the greater the force, the greater the potential force differential. The key difference is that unlike a car engine, you are not burning fossil fuel, you are using an external renewable energy source that is freely available and not depleted when used.If the generator was placed at the bottom of the ocean, people would easily understand the pressure of all the water above it creating a force on the piston. Some people’s perception fails to realise that we live submerged at the bottom of an ocean of air, and air acts in a similar manner.Thankfully, pistons have not evolved to think for themselves, and they only feel pressure- the source of the pressure is totally irrelevant and is not considered when calculating force. We intend to use this air to create renewable energy where and when required.Simple problem- simple solution.

Company DirectorStaars Scotland Ltd Feb 2017 - Jan 2018South Lanarkshire,STAARS goal is to totally change the culture and perception of how we view fatalities, injuries and financial losses in the workplace and in general.Currently we classify them as human error, errors of judgement and accidents but until we start looking at them as the direct result of bad decisions, we will not be able to achieve the reductions and savings that companies aspire to.Bad decisions are the cause of 75% of workplace injuries. This is the main reason why STAARS teach people to make better decisions with a view to reducing injuries in the workplace.Almost all these injuries are to people who have been trained in Health and Safety so it appears that the conventional approach is not achieving the desired effects. In my thirty years as a firefighter, I have witnessed too much death, injuries and financial losses which are mainly attributed to bad decisions.I have attended close to 100 Road Traffic Collisions that resulted in fatalities and almost all of them was because of people making bad decisions. At STAARS, we have developed an innovative and simple decision-making process. This process has been validated against hundreds of historical decisions and has highlighted 3 key areas. We help develop candidates in these key areas and closely analyse decisions in detail to maximize understanding of the process. The training is informative, thought provoking and encourages group discussion and candidate participation from the outset. It relies on practical examples from my thirty years in the fire service, with twenty-five years of them having a training and development responsibility. One other great benefit of this training is that the process is not just for the workplace and can also be used in peoples’ private lives as well. Please look at my experience to get a better understanding of the background to this ground-breaking approach and visit www.staarsscotland.co.uk for more information.
