In 2011, we acted as the sole commercial advisor to Standard Chartered Private Equity in its landmark investment in Export Trading Group – the largest private equity transaction ever in East Africa’s agricultural sector by the time. Since then, we have become a first-point-of-call to many international financial institutions interested in investing in related sectors in Sub-Saharan Africa, and expanded our services to advising leading indigenous African corporates in their financing activities.Our transaction records and expertise cover both East and West Africa, with our footprints having extended into some of the most remote villages (the “bushes”), markets and key logistic hubs in Nigeria, Moçambique, Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, Rwanda, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Senegal, Cameroon, as well as mining sites in South Africa. We cover African staple and cash crops, its imports and exports of food products, and agricultural inputs.We are also driving initiatives to bring Chinese know-how and capital to African agriculture and foods sectors, and to expand Sino-African trade and financial links.
