"A judge shall not initiate, permit, or consider ex parte communications or other communications made to the judge outside the presence of the parties between the judge and a party, an attorney, a guardian or attorney ad litem, an alternative dispute resolution neutral, or any other court appointee concerning the merits of a pending or impending judicial proceeding." Canon 3(B)(8), Texas Rules of Judicial Conduct. So, don't try to contact the Judge about a case. (1) I tend to ignore all private messages, but if I do see it I'll be required to send it to all the parties and attorneys involved and then not consider anything in the message as part of the case. So...just don't do it. If you have something to say to the judge it needs to be in OPEN COURT, in front of EVERYONE, under the rules of procedure applicable to the case.
