Using a BDD approach under Kanban methodology, involved in developing user stories and specifications to introduce strategic service layers for abstraction of several enterprise scale XML repositories (e.g. Market Data, Static Data, Time Series Data), to allow virtualisation of market data across various asset classes. Aim was to hide complexity, access data in a simpler and more natural way facilitating easier implementation of pricing and risk systems and reduce duplication.Understand processes to save, snap, review/correct and use market data across various asset classes. Work with the asset class teams to define the interfaces that should be available to the Market Environment to support these processes, and then get them implemented. Work with the asset class teams to enable them to migrate their existing market data usage to the new services.Work closely with various business streams (MO and Product Control) to understand the end-to-end workflows surrounding an existing processes used across Barclays. Define how these should be adapted to simplify the processes, and building out any missing functionality where necessary.Work closely with delivery teams to help elaborate technical solutions including the definition of requirements for the more technical/non-functional aspects of complex system design, e.g., scalability, resilience, performance, maintainability, business continuity etc.

Finance/HR Systems Consolidation – Senior Business Analyst/Project Manager for a two year multi-phased project to replace the suite of Finance and HR systems with a single comprehensive and customised, global enterprise wide solution. The project incorporated self-service functionality via the web, document management, billing and reporting, and integration with variety of internal and external systems. Responsibilities included the full project life-cycle from initial proposal and vendor selection through to post implementation review.Finance IT Systems – Responsible for their entire suite of applications including Cognos, Sun Finance and Billing. Role includes continual liaison with Finance to analyse requirements and implementing solutions/upgrades to meet those requirements in line with company strategy.Bank Reconciliation's – Management, development and delivery of a sophisticated data extract and reconciliation solution, enabling a more thorough reconciliation of currency transactions processed by the core IBM system.New Currencies – Implementation of four new currencies into the existing reconciliation system requiring excellent communication with the Central Banks.

Client - Rabobank InternationalData Migration/Warehousing – Large on-going data migration project involving various data transformation tools such as BCP, together with in-house designed applications, to migrate data from source (e.g. Kondor and Atlas) to target facilitating the sharing of data across various solutions. Strategic Interface Development – Assist in the design, building and testing of strategic interfaces between various Front/Back Office systems using a controlled and standard mechanism.

Key Developer for the internal Information Systems dept. These Client/Server systems included the Financial Reporting System and the Project Tracking System, both of which utilise MSAccess and SQL Server 7.
